This poem was inspired by a heartbreak from the past; And How now I am grateful for it.


In the depths of heartbreak's darkest night
Where sorrow reigns and hope takes flight
I searched for love, a beacon bright
To guide me through the endless fight

The tears I cried, the pain I bore
Were but a test, a trial to explore
The strength of my spirit, the depth of my heart
To find the love that would set me apart

The world outside was cold and grey
But in my soul, a fire still swayed
The embers of hope, the spark of love
That would not let me succumb to above

I searched for love, a guiding light
In every face, in every sight
But none could quench the flame that burned
Until I found the one, the one who learned

The secret to healing, the art of love
To soothe the wounds, to lift the gloom
The way to find the beauty in pain
And turn the ashes of heartbreak into gain

In the end, I found my heart's desire
The love that healed, the love that inspired
The hope that burned, the love that shone
The love that made my heart whole again, my own
