Oh, the joy of becoming a parent, a blessing so true,
A little one to love and cherish, a heart that's new.
The anticipation and wait, the hopes and the dreams,
The anxiety and the fears, all part of the scheme.

The preparation and the planning, the lists and the plans,
The nesting and the nestlings, all in a fan.
The doctor's appointments and the scans, the worries and the fears,
The doubts and the questions, all wiped away by tears.

The moment they arrive, a bundle of love,
A tiny heartbeat and a soul sent from above.
The first cuddle and the first kiss, the first cry and the first smile,
The first bath and the first outfit, all worthwhile.

The late nights and the early morns, the feedings and the changings,
The burp cloths and the diapers, the endless singings.
The laughter and the tears, the joys and the fears,
The memories made and the moments shared.

The first steps and the first words, the first day of school,
The first time they leave home, the first time they rule.
The growth and the learning, the milestones and the strides,
The becoming a parent, a journey to abide.
