Autumn has a points card for a movie theater. She receives 40 rewards points just for signing up. She earns 12.5 points for each visit to the movie theater. She needs at least 225 points for a free movie ticket. Write and solve an inequality which can be used to determine v, the number of visits Autumn can make to earn her first free movie ticket.

luhivqqcherry:

On Solving inequality 40 + 12.5 v ≥ 225, we get solution v ≥ 14.8. It means Autumn can earn a movie ticket from 15 visits.

whats the inequality?
Math inequality is a mathematical statement that describes a relationship between two expressions. Inequality statements typically involve the use of symbols such as “less than,” “greater than,” or “not equal to” to denote the relationship between the two expressions. Math inequalities can be used to describe a wide range of relationships, from simple ratios to more complex equations. Inequality statements can also be used to express real-world scenarios, such as testing whether a certain number falls within a given range or whether an equation has a solution. As such, math inequalities are a powerful tool for problem-solving and can be used in many different fields.
