There have been several events throughout history that have resulted in the loss of countless lives. Some of the deadliest events include the World War II, which claimed an estimated 70-85 million lives, the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918 which killed an estimated 50 million people, and the Mongol Conquests, which are believed to have killed as many as 60 million people. Other notable events that have claimed countless lives include the Taiping Rebellion in China, the colonization of the Americas, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
