Today, all that’s left of them are the vertical slabs of sandstone near the foothills of the current Rocky Mountains. Using your knowledge of rock types and the rock cycle (pictured above), explain what must have happened to the rock that made up the Ancestral Rocky Mountains in the past 300 million years.
