immigration .
There are a variety of reasons as to why Islam could be the fastest growing religion. Their religion attracts people all over the world and convinces them that their religion is the strongest and most reliable. They also are able to adapt to different ideas politically, spiritually, etc. There are many reasons overall. Those are just quite a few.
https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2017/04/06/why-muslims-are-the-worlds-fastest-growing-religious-group/ From a 2017 article. In short, it's because Muslim's tend to have more children than Christians, the current largest religion. Muslims have children at a rate of about 2.9, where Christians are at 2.6. They also dominate in large regions of land such as Africa and the Middle East, which are projected to have population booms. And the median age of Muslims is more than seven years younger than that of non-Muslims (24 vs 32). Also, less people seem to convert out of Islam than other religions (Christians are estimated to lose about 72 million between 2015 and 2060). So in other words, they have more kids, and Islam dominates in regions where they are about to have more kids. Islam dominates among young adults who will also eventually have kids and less people seem to leave Islam than other religions.
