For years, scientific advancements were hindered by religious involvement, Imagine, if you will, the hundreds of years that christians persecuted anyone doing anything out of the ordinary, and discouraging any sort of advancement. we still see this today.

nearly all religions give people false hope for a future after death, which usually makes the crowd that theyre influencing fear that if they do not follow their religion, they will meet a horrible end.
