This is a very bad attitude to take. This question is actually pretty interesting, and hard to answer. I'll start with the basics though, WIFI is essentially transmitting your internet connection wirelessly, computers actually can work without an internet connection, but you wouldn't be able to access websites or update your computer or other stuff. This is because the internet is essentially what connects you to the outside world - without it - you are limited to what's already on your PC. On most PCs this isn't an issue, but for example on chromebooks where it's engineered around having an internet connection, you may find a lot more troubles than say on a windows PC where you have all your apps locally installed.
