I been fat/chubby/so fat and chubby where I could walk for the longest time I was 13 years old at 215lbs 5'1 I was chubby I started changing my way I eat to eating 4 times a day to 2 times a day because for my health I was eating to much I stopped going out with friends every week and went out to eat every 2-4 weeks so I can focus on what I eat and I try and do 50 pushups a day and 500 situps a day but I'm 8 years in this progress and I haven't made it any farther than the first day I still can't do 5 push ups cuz of how much fat I have on my waist and my stomach area and from my dislocated shoulder and weak knee (RIGHT) I would recommend to just keep doing the healthy habbits you got but try and increase them thats how I try my best as of now I am now pushing my hardest doing 10 pushups without giving up so if I can come from hardly walking for my whole life then you can get through I believe in you just keep chasing those fitness goals we can do it together! Love yourself to finish the goals!...

You honestly never know what someone's story is until you find out the hard way.
JacobPG:
Yes I agree I've experienced more than a lot of people I know I show happiness but on the inside I'm lost, broken and finding happiness within everything/everyone around. Just keep fighting no matter what happens in life! Love All! Spread The Love<3

Did the doctor call you fat or did they simply say you should lose weight? Sometimes doctors can be rude but generally they just want to help patients become healthy. It's normal to feel upset when people talk about your weight. Some people struggle more than others to keep their weight at a certain level. It requires changing habits, which is easier to do when you're young than when you're old.
For an objective perspective, you could look at what this BMI calculator says:
https://www.calculator.net/bmi-calculator.html?cage=13&csex=f&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=8&cpound=168&cheightmeter=180&ckg=65&printit=0&ctype=standard&x=Calculate
If you're interested in losing weight, the best option is to try to limit how much you eat. Technically every would benefit from a certain amount of exercise, but for losing weight diet is much more important than exercise.

Losing weight isn't necessary unless it's actively affecting your health. and if you are tall, which 5'8 is pretty tall imo, 168 doesn't seem to be fat, but technically could be seen as slightly "overweight." nothing to be concerned about or anything though.
I'm 5'4 and around 115-120 pounds so height does have a big impact on your weight, so if you are going to grow more, which you did say you're going to be a tall girl, you could always grow into that weight as your body changes.
But I would say if you did actually want to lose weight as of now, yeah, drink lots of water and eat a healthier diet. for example, cutting out processed foods.

My doctor said she wants me around 125-145 pounds i am starting to work out a little more and go for walks around my neighborhood now so i hope that helps and i'm hardly eating so i'll see how i'm doing in a week.

make sure you're not eating too little. that could also have horrible effects and really isn't healthy.
but yes, taking walks and starting a little workout is great! you can take losing weight slowly, don't push yourself too much because there is no rush.

Your doctor was likely referring to your BMI (Body Mass Index). It takes into account your height and weight then computes a score. Depending on that score, you can be normal weight, underweight, overweight, or obese. If you are in any of the last three categories, you are at risk of severe health conditions which is why your doctor was urgent (though perhaps rude).
You can calculate your BMI using an online calculator like this:
https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
You can also calculate the amount of calories your body needs to maintain, and lose weight at varying paces using this website:
https://www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html
At the end of the day though, losing weight is MOSTLY what you eat. Exercise is good, but weight maintenance is all about calories in, calories out. If you work out as hard as you can, but still eat a lot of food (more calories than you spend), you will NOT lose weight.
As someone who has been into fitness for several years, my recommendation would be to make sure you're eating healthy foods. Non processed, good fats, lots of protein, and not too many carbs (eliminate sugar).
NOTE: High protein meals are amazing as protein takes more calories to digest and takes longer to digest. So it will make you feel full longer and give you more energy over time. Carbs are easier to digest and thus get converted to fat really easily while not keeping you as full. Meats like chicken, eggs, or fish are the best.
Exercise will help as well. If you are not used to exercise, walking is one of the best ways to lose weight. You can trim hundreds of calories every week just walking and enjoying nature or listening to music.
If you are used to working out, lifting and/or intense cardio will obviously help you maintain your weight as well. I would encourage you to pick these up IF you want to quicken the pace of losing weight.
I wish you the best of luck and I am happy to answer any additional questions you might have.

Walking for 30 minutes a day or more on most days of the week is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. If you can't manage 30 minutes a day, remember even short walks more frequently can be beneficial. Walking with others can turn exercise into an enjoyable social occasion.

you could run some daily if you wished as well
