When you get your tonsils removed, you will typically be under general anesthesia during the surgery. After the procedure, you will be taken to a recovery room where you will be closely monitored until you wake up from the anesthesia. Depending on the individual and the extent of the surgery, it may take several hours to fully wake up and recover. It is normal to feel groggy and sleepy after the surgery, and it is recommended to take it easy for a few days following the procedure to allow your body to fully recover.
