In the diagram below, ARST has been reflected vertically and horizontally and then dilated to produce triangle XYZ T Y RX- S Which statement must be true? A. (RS)/(XY) = (RT)/(XZ) X = Y =m angle Z C .m angle S=m angle Z OD. (RS)/(XZ) = (RT)/(YZ)
Since it's reflected and dilated, it's obvious that the traingles are the same. If you reflect the triangle on the right to the left so the 2 are on the same side, which angles match up?
As a clue, I'll say it isn't A or D. Let me know if you get an answer and I'll let you know if it's correct or not.
B is what I got
That's incorrect. The angles for those 2 aren't similar, they're just on the same triangle. If you look at C, which says m<S = m<Z , the angles are similar from the left side point.
As I said, it's easier to see what the answer is if you reflect it back to the original side, or you just look for like sides/angles.
Oh ok so if I flip them and they’re on the same side they can be similar?
If you flip them and the angles are similar, then that's your answer. At least that's how I do it..
