Well there's about 38 million Americans who have diabetes, so that's like 1 in 10 people, and approximately 90-95% of them have type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes most often develops in people over age 45, but more and more children, teens, and young adults are also developing it. There are many ways you can cope and still manage to live a happy life with diabetes. My grandfather has diabetes and this is what he does. He makes and eats only healthy food with no high cholesterol or sugar. He is very active most days, hiking a lot. He has to inject himself with a needle so that means he takes medicines as prescribed, even if he feels good. He easily can manage and cope with the emotional side of diabetes. And of course, he goes to checkups regularly. I hope i could help you.
