You can send them resources and talk to them about it but it’s all up to them if they don’t want change you can’t force it
KingPizza:
I literally told them they could get cancer from doing this and they still want to keep smoking

Then maybe they don’t want to change maybe wait and bring up the topic again in a suttle way but don’t be to pushy
KingPizza:
it's actually a user on here I'm referring to. But I guess I might have to wait some other day to try again to convince them

Some people thinks smoking is a good Thing to do, but later on they gonna see how it feels
Aratox:
Express empathy and understanding for their situation, and encourage them to consider the negative effects of smoking or alcohol abuse on their health and relationships. Offer support and resources to help them quit, such as counseling or support groups. Provide positive reinforcement and reassurance that they are capable of making positive changes for their well-being.

yall dont gotta call ppl out

Some people smoke and do drugs as a form of escape from a reality they don't want to live in. Alot of us who are or have been drug users don't really have people in our lives who care about us. Drugs offer a small sense of bliss and comfort that we can't find anywhere else. It takes alot of hurt and pain to come into sobriety, and it takes a strong person to walk away from it. Just please don't give up on them.

finally someone who gets it

Well you can make a presentation on the negative aspects nd give them hope in a way show them the negative impacts on smokin and drungs. Also show them how their actions affect others and their loved ones and how big of an impact they can make in their lives. You should be inspirational and help them but dont tell them stuff everyone has told them make it different u cant act like u care abt them. You actually want to have to help them and remember you an only help a person so much. Meaning you can give a fish food but weather they choose to eat it our not is their choice. Therefore when you try to get ppl to stop alchahol and drugs try giving them hope and changing their lives help them grow and sant to grow into a better individual. Teach them the values and the joyous aspects in life help them want to value and have better for themselves then they may stop

Quitting an addiction is based off will. If they don’t want to change, then they physically cannot. Present how it may affect their future, and ruin relationships both platonic and romantic; the first step to solving an addiction, is learning the effect it has on everyone else who surrounds you.

An addiction is built from loss of self control hermano.

A lot of people do that stuff to numb the pain. Physical or emotionally. You can't force someone to do something. Especially if they found it to be the only thing to numb their pain.
If it's really concerning to you, approach them in a respectful, calm way.
Personally I have trouble with addiction, it just numbs my pain.
