My workout routine for basketball(1st week)
Monday - Chest
Barbell Bench Press: 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Dumbbell Flyes: 3 sets of 12-15 reps
Push-Ups: 200 pushups in under 2 minutes & five seconds
Cooldown(water,fan,snack if needed)
150 pushups in under 1 minute 30 seconds,
Cooldown
150 pushups again under the remaining 1 minute
I stop only if I have done 300+pushups
Fail 2 times within 30 seconds(usually happens around 320 pushups)
I usually stop a little over 340
Incline Dumbbell Press: 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Chest Dips: 3 sets of 10-12 reps
Bench dips: 3 sets of 12-15 reps
Tuesday - Leg Day:
Barbell Squats: 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Dumbbell Lunges: 3 sets of 12-15 reps per leg
Romanian Deadlifts: 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Leg Press Machine: 3 sets of 12-15 reps
Calf Raises: 3 sets of 15-20 reps
Leg Extensions: 5 sets of 18 reps
Wednesday - Back Day:
Barbell Bent Over Rows(165): 4 sets of 8-10 reps
Dumbbell Rows: 3 sets of 12-15 reps per arm
Pull-Ups/Chin-Ups: I don't have a set number really. It's lightwork tbh, my record is 16 minutes and 3 seconds
Deadlifts: (180 lb Barbells) 4-5 sets of 8 reps each set
Resistance band lat pull downs: 30 pull downs
Hyperextensions (Back Extensions):
Thursday – Shoulder Day:
Barbell Overhead Press:
2-3 sets of 15 reps
Dumbbell Lateral Raises:
6 sets x 10 reps
Front Plate Raise:
3 sets x 8 -10 reps
Rear Delt Flyes:
4 sets x 15 reps
Shrugs: 3 sets of 20 reps
Friday – Core Day:
Cable Russian Twists for 5 minutes
6 minute cooldown
Planks:
4 sets x 3 minutes
Hanging Leg Raises: 30
12 sets x 10 reps
Woodchoppers:
2 sets x 15 reps
Ab Rollouts:I stop at 10

I just finished basketball season and I'm doing aau now and I do 100 push ups and some work with dumb bells but not nearly this and yet i'm point guard on the team and one of the best.

You'll get there, it takes time and diligence. But if u want to do it at ur own pace. Pg and sg btw

Are all these numbers accurate? Some of these like chest day seem so loaded with sets that you're either going to be dead after or severely diminishing returns for hypertrophy. Are you pushing all these sets to failure?

I have the wherewithal to know when to stop, this is just my latest routine I aim for. I know substitutions that don't diminish the gains and arent too straining.
