Hello QC users.

Recently we've seen the rise of AI being used on QC. Whether it's having AI produce an image, text, or answer to a question, it's a new technology that users have been rapidly engaging it. This is something that the QC Team has had a discussion on, regarding the merits of this new tool and its use on QC.

We have decided that going forward, AI is not allowed to be used in creating a post or answering one.

While this new technology is definitely exciting, we are concerned that it undermines the core values of this website, which is users helping users, people helping people. Using AI undercuts the learning and personal aspect of this site's structure, and as such we will not be allowing it going forward.

Use of AI going forward will result in a warning, then subsequent suspensions for repeat offenses.

There are many more concerns about AI that resulted in our decision, including the inaccuracy of the technology (AI will tend to be confidently incorrect) and the many influences behind the AI (code, programmers, policies, etc) lead to issues of attribution.

It's an actual person, nobody is smart enough to code how to auto message random people for advertising (besides me and the actual QC team atp) Especially since the site is custom coded

I believe that's still allowed, as long as Grammarly AI isn't used - Shadow doesn't want AI generated content, although a spell checker is still allowed.

I actually support the ban of AI on here. While AI is a cool tool to use, it's against the rules of QC to cheat, and you're kinda cheating yourself if you just come up with an answer that ISN'T EVEN YOURS. If someone asks me help for a english text, I can't just write the text for them, I gotta guide them through the rubric for the assignment. Keep in mind you can't learn anything from cheating except deceit, and it's much better to go on the right path then chance getting caught!

I looked into it, and by the numbers, Gen-Z is the dumbest generation because of the use of ai. This is concerning, because lets say your a doctor, but you only answered stuff with ai, that knowledge didn't come from you. It came from the ai. So when you get a job, you don't know what to do. This is why it is very detrimental to high school, and especially College kids.

I think this was stated, but yeah it low-key ruins the entire point of authentic points, opinions and views on many different educational materials, and if that's the case, then there would be no point to questioncove to begin with if people are using AI for answers and generative things.

The point that we're making is we saw a lot of users just copying and pasting what ChatGPT said onto the post. If you are writing your own response and helping the user by explaining how to solve the math problem, that is fine. Copying and pasting an AI's answer is not okay.

Im scared of being flagged for using AI because I make my answered simple, but I also use words that most people don't, ive been accused in a ton of assignments, is this something we have to worry about?

Adding onto this, this also includes posting any class assignments that could possibly use artificial intelligence. Whether it's a generated image, logo, design, etc, it isn't allowed here. Regardless of the fact that it is utilized by a class, it isn't allowed here. Once again do not spam the post if you happen to see this. Thank you.
