Question

( I am currently writing something for class that I feel is important and should be brought into awareness and I would like some feedback and suggestions. I did use Grammarly to fix some mistakes.)


Sexual harassment awareness in schools


I believe sexual violence is an issue that needs to be solved and students should not be turned down or pushed away on this.

Some reasons I say this is because students aren't really allowed to be heard and most students don't actually have someone to turn and talk to about something like this.
NCBI.NIM.NIH.gov states that 61 to 69.1% of students don't feel safe in their own schools alone nor do they have an adult they feel they can fully trust.
This is also a problem because students are told that they can 100% trust their educators and they will be truly safe inside the school buildings but how can this be so if they are being harassed by those they should be able to go to for help?

Another reason I say this is because students are being sexually harassed by teachers in their schools that they were taught they should be able to trust.
Research shows that from K-12 88% of students are or have been victims of sexual assault by teachers in their schools.
Awareness should be brought into schools students need to know there is someone they can talk to about this and fully trust.
11% out of those 81% of students who have been sexually assaulted by an educator in their school have killed themselves from not being heard in time.
On the other hand schools and others will say that schools ARE doing something about it. Saying that they have counselors to talk to the students, but this is not a great comeback because most schools only have one to two counselors inside most schools and they are not always available to talk to the students. Also, most counselors are less active with students as the school year goes through.
So in conclusion to this, student’s voices should be put out there and not put down. Awareness of sexual harassment and violence should be brought into schools need to make adjustments to do something about it to let the students know that if it is brought to their attention, there will be consequences for the person’s actions.

I believe that your writing has a great potential in raising awareness. I like your train of thoughts. If this is only for free writing (not for any assessments like essay etc. ), I would also suggest including suggestions on how the schools can address this issue. You have mentioned "schools need to make adjustments to do something about it" but your writing will be more impactful if examples of these adjustments can be provided in the writing as well.
