For each outcome, multiply the probability of the event * its monetary value. So starting with: “if you pick a club you will win 10”. The probability of getting a club in a standard deck of cards is (1/4). Multiply that by 10 to get (1/4)*10. Repeat this process for all the outcomes. Sum all the products to get the expected value.
