Does anyone know what the dilations on a graph would be if the scale factor is 1/2?
yes so basically a dialation of 1/2 means a reductions. So to calculate the new coordinates you multiply each x and y value by the scale factor of 1/2. Which is basically the same as dividing each value by 2.
Any dilation with scale factors that are fractions will become smaller in size :v Basically it’s the same thing as dividing.. Let’s say you have the coordinate (4,6) 4 x 1/2 = 2 6 x 1/2 = 3 Your new point would be (2,3) after a dilation of 1/2 ^^ That’s an example but I hope it helps a bit, feel free to ask if you need any more help!
Pic?
And what exactly is the coordinate on the graph right now?
It would’ve helped if you included that beforehand.
