Feedback or thoughts on this poem New York stands with the shiny, glittering stars, Oh, how I wish I was that tall! With all the admiration burning inside, The city's roar quiets down to the suburbs. New York is my home, It will always be my home. So stay with me until the end. New York, my grateful New York, How pretty you look tonight! With Alicia's voice soaring downtown, And Billie Holiday's blues melding with the night. Here in New York is where I stand, I have stood for years From the Empire State Building To the long Brooklyn Bridge. Ellis Island, you can’t be ignored, How could I ever forget a place like you? Migrants pass freely and brave, Glad of the second chance that has come to pass. New York, New York, A place for escape, Embrace my warmth, and heed those in need. You will forever be in my mind, Holding close those cherished, And standing tall, without fear.
