Personification is like a metaphor except its more human qualities, for example "the walls are staring at me, the darkness grabbing at me" stuff like that. This is NOT an example of personification because its not giving any human qualities. I think this is a metaphor because it uses the idea of comparing two very different things in order to form an idea. A withered plant is not at all like a building but we can compare the two to form an illusion or idea of what we are trying to say.

Personification is adding human qualities to things. Kind of like that description says, it could be anything that you personify.
