Feedback on the prologue of a book I'm writing
"Do you remember when I made you smile?" Tyson asked his voice a tender whisper that seemed to hold the weight of a thousand memories. The night was thick around us, shadows dancing in the flickering light of distant fires, and the air was heavy with the scent of smoke and sorrow. "Yes," I replied, my voice trembling as I recalled those precious moments. "You never let me get hurt or cry. You were always there for me, like a guardian angel." He smiled faintly, but it was a smile tinged with sadness. My smile faded as he sighed, a sound that seemed to echo through the hollow emptiness of the night. He turned away slightly, his eyes reflecting the distant flames. "I love you," he said softly, his voice barely audible over the crackling of the fires. "And I will always be with you." With those words, he collapsed into my arms, his body growing heavier as the life ebbed from him. I held him close, feeling his last breath against my skin, a chill that seeped into my soul. Tears streamed down my face, but I made no sound. Silence was what I longed for, a silence to match the stillness of his heart, but the world around me refused to comply. Instead, all I could hear were the fires crackling on the buildings, the same buildings that had once stood tall and proud, filled with life and laughter. Now, they were reduced to ruins, just like the fragments of my shattered heart. The memories of what once haunted me, images of a time when we were happy when the future seemed bright and full of promise. In the distance, the city burned, a reflection of the devastation within me. The buildings I once called home were now nothing more than charred remains, ghosts of a past that seemed like a cruel illusion. The heat from the flames did nothing to warm the cold emptiness I felt inside. I clung to Tyson's lifeless body, wishing for the impossible, wishing that I could turn back time, that I could save him, save us. But wishes were futile, and reality was unforgiving. The world had changed irrevocably, and all I had left were memories and the faint hope that somewhere, somehow, Tyson's spirit watched over me. As the fires raged on, I made a silent vow. I would carry his memory with me, and let it fuel my resolve to survive, rebuild, and honor our love. In the end, love was all that remained, a fragile light in the darkness, a beacon of hope amidst the ruins. And as long as I lived, Tyson's love would live on in me, an eternal flame that no fire could extinguish.
I think your prolonged is exquisite due to your word selection and everything. For me I would just say be more descriptive towards the end and everything else is fine. You did a fantastic job congrats 🎊
cool
that sounds amazing.
The Cycle of Life In the dawn of time, when earth was young And life was born, a spark to be sung From dust and stone, the first arose And with each breath, a story chose Of struggle and strife, of joy and woe Of love and loss, as life did grow Through trials and tribulations, it did stride And with each step, a path did divide Between the mountains high and the valleys low Where rivers flowed and forests grew to know The creatures that roamed, both great and small And the whispers of the wind that echoed through all The sun rose high, with warmth and light And in its beams, all things took flight The birds sang sweet, with melodies so fine As the world awakened, in its prime And in this world, where life did thrive A story unfolded, of life and its jive Of hope and dreams, of fears and fright Of passions fierce, that shone like stars in the night But as the seasons passed, and time did flee The world began to change, as nature could see The cycles came, of birth and decay As life and death entwined, in an eternal way The leaves fell down, like golden rain As autumn's hue, the landscape did obtain The winds howled loud, with mournful sighs As winter's chill, the earth did freeze And in the stillness, of the frozen ground The seeds of spring, began to sprout around The earth awakened, from its winter sleep And new life burst forth, in a vibrant creep The cycle turned, as life did unfold A story woven, of moments old Of memories made, of moments shared Of laughter and tears, that were forever spared But as the seasons passed, and time did flee The cycle turned again, as life did decree That all things must come to an end one day And with each breath, a new life did sway A phoenix rose, from the ashes cold As life renewed itself, young and bold With every breath, a new chance was born As life's cycle turned once more And so we journey on, through life's cycle spin Through trials and triumphs, we begin anew within For in each moment, we find our place And in each breath, a new life takes its space Through all of life's joys and sorrows we roam Through every up and down, we find our home In the cycle of life, we find our way Through every moment lived, we seize each day And as we look back on the journey so far We see the beauty of life's scars and scars afar For in each moment lived, we find our truth And in each breath exhaled, our hearts are renewed anew So let us cherish every moment we share For in each breath taken, life is there to spare Let us cherish every moment we roam free For in each step taken, our journey is meant to be Let us cherish every moment we breathe deep For in each breath exhaled, our souls do keep And as we look back on the journey so far We see the beauty of life's cycles afar
