Some tips: - Reduce blue light before bed (staring at a screen), this interferes with melatonin (sleep hormone) production. Melatonin is triggered by darkness, and builds up, so light hinders this. - Try to detox the leadup to your sleep. Pick a relaxing activity to do before bed such as reading a book or listening to some calm music - Exercise sometime in the day. Exercise is proven to help you sleep better. Walking, running, lifting, yoga, sports, etc. - Perhaps most importantly, try to wakeup and go to sleep at the same time. This helps reinforce your circadian rhythm, your body's 'clock' which regulates things like sleep. - If you find yourself thinking about the problems of the day, or tomorrow (etc), your relaxing activity could be journaling and getting your thoughts out. Often you need to process what you're anxious about, then your mind gets to relax. - Try not to eat big meals before bed, especially heavy protein. Digestion requires energy, which competes for sleep (which requires energy). Similarly, avoid water in the hour leading up to bedtime.
