Feedback on a essay I wrote One extraordinary day, I had my first lucid dream—a surreal experience that felt incredibly real. As an active person who often daydreams, I had been curious about lucid dreaming for weeks. I had read that to achieve it, you need to relax completely and focus on the darkness. One day, while napping, I decided to try again. At first, I got bored and questioned the possibility of lucid dreaming. Eventually, I grew tired and snuggled into bed. I must have fallen asleep around 10 a.m. Suddenly, I found myself 'awake,' with my dad asking me to close the blinds. Although they were already closed, I noticed white construction paper covering them. This odd detail, along with other strange occurrences, made me realize I was dreaming. My desk was cluttered, and as I began to organize it, the TV turned on by itself, saying it was on low battery. I thought, "Doesn't my brother have my remote?" and he appeared with it. I felt a tingle, like Peter Parker's 'spidey sense,' and realized I was dreaming. In my excitement, I thought I had woken up, but it was a false awakening—a dream within a dream. I closed my eyes, felt my heartbeat quicken, and my body sank into the bed. I knew from my research that I needed to stay calm. After a reality check, I confirmed I was still dreaming. I found myself on a rowboat, the transition so smooth it felt real. I tried to visualize someone I knew, but excitement got the better of me. My emotions broke the dream's stability, and I woke up for real. The bed felt like a rowboat while I was going back to sleep, so suddenly I was on a rowboat. The transition was so smooth I thought it was fake. So I thought about someone I knew and I was a little dumb because I forgot half of what their body looks like so it was kind of awkward. This incredible experience left me eager to explore more of the fascinating world of lucid dreaming. The thrill of being aware of a dream and the possibilities it opened up were astonishing. Although my excitement caused me to wake up, I am determined to practice and improve my ability to maintain control in future lucid dreams. This first experience sparked a deep interest in the mysterious and intriguing realm of lucid dreaming.
