"Solve the inequality below and graph the solution on the number line." is the question btw

CriminalilticFool:

This is actually relatively simple. Do you know how to do regular algebra? Basically, I'm saying to imagine the inequality sign as an equals sigh and solve it that way.

notmeta:

im stuck that's the problem. I solved it on the left side but I cant figure out the right one

CriminalilticFool:

Can you show me what you have?

CriminalilticFool:

Work wise.

notmeta:

4-(3x-2)+4 > 8(-x+2) (12x-8)+4 > 8(-x+2) 4x+4 > 8(-x+2) 8x > 8(-x+2)

notmeta:

that's what I have rn

Midnight97:

Okay from what it looks like I've done this before but I just forgot how to do it I can try to help you but no promises that it'll be correct because it's been like a month since I done this stuff and I haven't paid attention I just got my test correct so from what it's looking like if I do 100% remember correct let me get the screenshot then I can see what I can do give me about 5 minutes or so

Okay, so what you have to do now is use the distributive property and in doing so, you multiply 8 by the "-x" and the 2, leaving you with 8x > -8x + 16 What you then have to do is add the -8x to the right side, giving you 16x > 16 Divide 16 on the left side by the one on the right, giving you x > 1

Just a faster typer on phone I guess lol

CriminalilticFool:

Okay, now, for the graphing, do you know the rules of the inequality graphing line?
