Am I overreacting??
so next week I turn 16 and it's on a school day that same day my mom has work from 10 am to 9 pm and she told me, we(my twin) won't be having a birthday cause that next day she has a surgery I understand but it hurts because I only turn 16 once and I didn't do anything last year and I can't even get something simple on my birthday I'm not asking for much a small cupcake or anything and I just feel like I'm overreacting we already weren't getting present or anything but I just thought maybe turning 16 I'll actually have a good birthday for once
(I'm putting this in physcology cause it has something to do with the mind and mental behavior)

You have the right to be angry. Your mom could definitely take 1 DAY OFF WORK to celebrate the birth of HER CHILDREN. Honestly sounds like an L mom.
NaiNoah:
Tbh nah you aren't really overreacting, one day off work ain't gonna kill anybody. Even if she was gonna take the day off work she should still bring you home something even if it isn't big. It just shows she cares and that she tried (ofc she should still take the day off tho but you gotta get that bread somehow)
PureSoulless:
You're overreacting.
Here's why, I haven't had a birthday party or any present given to me since I was 6. And I'm completely fine with it. Plus if you're 16 just throw your own party, 16 is the age to start thinking straight and doing your own things. You're parents (Or as you mentioned, your mother) already does a lot of things for you whether you know it or not, give her a break.
PureSoulless:
TLDR: You're overreacting.
biscuitsandgravy:
Well, sorta and sorta not. I mean you have every right to at least have something done on your birthday. Your 16th birthday of all days.

I didn't ask about your life your trying to make me feel pity for you but I don't I was asking if I was overreacting because I felt sad and was crying I didn't say I was throwing a fit or yelling at my mom plus you don't know what my mom does to assume she does stuff for me and because I'm 16 I was going to go out with friends a few days after my birthday to hang out so don't assume I wasn't.I just felt a little upset cause I can't do anything on the day of my birthday cause I have school from 8 to 4 and my mom has work from 10 - 9 so there wouldn't be any time for me to be able to celebrate my birthday on that day so don't come here and assume things
biscuitsandgravy:
Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Though if someone doesn't want to celebrate their birthday that's fine too. Everyone has their own preferences.

PureSoulless:
Also I don't need you to feel pity about me.

Fighting is something physical or violence
PureSoulless:
I don't think anyone's attacking anybody?
