Lilly2010:

A poem I wrote about my Mom: n shadows deep where silence stings, Frustration brews on heavy wings. Words left unsaid, a bitter tide, In this heart where love and hurt collide. You wore your strength like armor bright, Yet I felt small, lost in your light. Your laughter echoed, sharp and clear, But in that sound, I hid my fear. The weight of dreams you cast my way, A burdened gift I learned to weigh. Why can’t you see the scars I bear? The weight of your hope, a cross I wear. In moments dark, my voice would rise, A tempest born from silent cries. “I’m more than what you dreamed for me,” Yet still I yearn for you to see. But anger’s flame can burn so hot, It masks the love that can’t be caught. So here I stand, both fierce and frail, A daughter lost, a ship set sail. Yet in the storm, a truth remains: Love and anger both leave stains. So I’ll learn to bridge this chasm wide, To find the peace where hearts collide.

we have to appreciate what we have, because we could lose it at any time, with no warning

I already lost it...so I can't really "appreciate" her when she left...so
