In the quiet of night, where shadows creep,
Lie whispers of dreams that no longer keep,
Like paper boats tossed on a restless sea,
Each promise once bright, now a memory.

Words hung in the air, sweet like the spring,
Now echo with silence, a forgotten thing,
The laughter we shared, now a distant sound,
In the ruins of trust, lost hopes abound.

The warmth of your touch, once a tender embrace,
Now lingers like ghosts in this empty space,
Promises made in the light of our days,
Now flicker like candles, their light lost in haze.

Each vow that was spoken, a thread in the weave,
Frayed by the heartache, too fragile to believe,
We built a fine castle on dreams made of sand,
Only to watch it slip through our hands.

But in the shards left, a lesson remains,
That love, though it falters, can still bear its pains,
For even in sorrow, we learn to stand tall,
And rise from the ashes, embracing it all.

So here in the darkness, I gather my dreams,
Stitching the fragments with hope’s gentle seams,
For though promises break, they also can mend,
In the journey of love, it’s not just the end.
