In the quiet din of echoing laughter,
Once vibrant whispers now shrouded in dust,
We danced on the edges of time and after,
But like fleeting shadows, we turned to rust.

Promises etched in the fabric of trust,
The sun dipped slowly; our colors bled grey,
What treasure was ours is now a mere gust,
As memories linger and softly decay.

You were my compass through storms and through strife,
But illusions grew thick as our dreams fell away.
I reach for your presence it crumbles like life,
Leaving echoes of silence where love used to sway.

Disappointment hangs heavy like fog on the moor,
In corners unvisited ghosts quietly tread.
A heart once ablaze now finds solace no more,
For the space that you filled feels so dreadfully spread.

Yet even amidst sorrow's unyielding embrace,
