AITAH: I (16 F) have a IEP (Individualized Educational Plan) in school. I have had it since 9th grade for my cleft lip, hearing loss, and ADHD. It's not been as helpful. My case manager has been telling me because of my grades I will be losing phone privileges in school, meaning I will not be able to control my hearing aid when needed. In one of my classes, my teacher is holding onto my phone in his class until the end of class, and I can't get it until the bell rings. I've gotten ISS at the beginning of the year for controlling my hearing aid to my phone, which was never put on my IEP last year, due to it being added last minute last year. My mom called the school and got mad because they allow other students to have their phones when they have no IEP or disability. I have been told that I need to stop using my phone for my hearing aid but how else am I supposed to hear? I'm getting my mom to explain to my case manager when the times comes for my IEP meeting, that I must have my phone for my disability. My mom even said I might get a new case manager if she doesn't allow it. AITAH?
