Would it be considered theft if I gave someone money and took it back without asking? (Don't worry, I did not do this I'm just curious.)
I did not mean to put that on tutorials.
No
thats called 'indian-giving'
ok yeah let just say if you gave someone money and then just took it back without asking, yeah, it could definitely be seen as theft and here is the reason why: if you gave money as a gift, then once you hand it over, it's technically theirs. taking it back without asking would be kind snatching it out of their hands, which would be consider stealing. But if you gave it as a loan (meaning they supposed to pay it back), it's more like your're breaking the deal, but it's not theft in the strictest sense. You'd still be in the wrong for taking it back without them agreeing, though. The main key here is the intent behind it. if you gave it freely as a gift, taking it back would be bit of a betrayal, and you could fall under theft, because you've taken something that was no longer yours. if it was a loan, you'd just breaching the terms of agreement, which is still shady, but a little different. But yeah, bottom line is that if it's a gift and you take it back, it's pretty much stealing, even if it's awkward or uncomfortable to think about. like it is always better to be upfront about things like that lol
It would be theft
because when you gave them the money it became there money
and when you took it back you are basically stealing there money whether you gave it to them or not
