Well, unless you know the people really well online, then they probably have no reason and just like to "tease" you, aka hurt your feelings and make you feel miserable. You should ignore those types of people, as they are mostly the ones who lead to nowhere in the real world.
As for people in the real world, yes, they can "tease" you, but as I've found over the years, they usually have more of a reason to tease you. If you could reach out to a counselor or therapist, that'd be great, because it usually relieves your stress when you can tell other people about this.

it's because they don't understand how their actions impact others, or maybe they're dealing with their own pain, frustration, or insecurities. It doesn’t make it right, but it’s often more about them than it is about you. People might lash out when they’re hurting or feeling lost, but that doesn’t mean you deserve it like nobody does
