I give and give, yet still I find, A world that’s harsh, unkind. I try my best, I do my part, But all I get is a heavy heart. Words that sting, like bitter rain, I try to stand, but feel the strain. No matter how I reach or strive, I wonder if I’ll ever feel alive. Respect, it seems, is far away, A distant dream I wish could stay. For every effort, every tear, The silence speaks, and none will hear. But still I rise, though bruised and worn, With hope that from this pain I’ll be reborn. For in my soul, there burns a fire, To stand tall, to never tire. One day, I’ll find a place to be, Where kindness flows, and I am free.
