There are a lot of people in our society who are reaching ages where they might not be able to take care of themselves on their own. Perhaps you have a family member or friend who is getting older and needs long-term care. What are the options for this person? What would you suggest to that person, and why? How would you help the person to recognize the types of long-term care facilities and their differing levels of care? What would you tell the person about his or her rights in these facilities? Help familiarize this person with legislation affecting long-term care.
