I wrote this last night after something had happened, and it catches how i was feeling:

I'm caught in a cycle of being controlled,
Twined to someone else's will, and feeling soulless.
The tug-and-pull of manipulation takes its toll,
Leaving me worn and weary, lost in a hole.

Treated like a mere instrument,
My worth dwindled to a means to an end, no real function.
My thoughts and feelings silenced, ignored and unseen,
As I'm forced to dance to the rhythm of others' screen.

I yearn to shatter these chains of oppression,
To reclaim my rightful place on life's canvas, a true expression.
I crave respect, valued for who I truly am,
Not a pawn in someone else's game, a mere 'someone' to claim.

But breaking free demands more than just vague intent,
Requires the fortitude to rise above the mental Bent.
It takes courage to resist, to assert my own voice,
To rise up and shout my truth, without a single noise.

I summon strength, resolve to forge ahead,
Determined to break free from the shackles I dread.
I'll no longer be a mere puppet on strings,
I'll rise, reclaim my identity, and forge my own wings.
