Fathers love their kids
Instead of a loving father
Mine was a monster
A monster who never loved
And never felt emotion
All i wanted from him was one simple “I love you kiddo”
I never got that
All i got told was to do better
And i was never his
Even though it hurt
And broke my heart
I got used to it
Little by little
I craved to hear him say
Four simple words
Was it that hard
To say you love your kid
I will be a better parent
Than my father ever has been
