Okay, My 3 year old sister is burning up badly, she has the flu and I've tried several ways to make it go down, Ive tried laying her in some cool water even having cold rags on her. The fever didn't go down not even the slightest, Anyone give me some tips?? (don't say hospital)

Cloud4444:

Tylenol, ibuprofen, water and somewhere cool but not cold

Me and my mom done that. We gave her some tylenol.. But she still has a very bad fever, We put vix on her back, feet, and chest so she can breathe a bit better because she hasn't really been breathing normally. Just at a fast pace. She's sleeping right now. It seems to only affect her when she's sleeping.

Does this happen often or is this rare? is she different when she's awake or does she seem normal other then the stated symptoms?

It happens often, She's had the flu since yesterday, But it's getting worse. She's saying her stomach hurts, and it hurts to stare at lights or deal with loud noise. This is the first time she has ever gotten this sickly. Starting to worry me, Because shes my sister. And seeing her sick is like a punch to the gut. So I'm trying my best to help her

at this point if her symptoms are getting worse even though your handling things the best as you can like you need to focus on keeping her calm and comfortable, even if it's really hard. a quiet, dark room, like maybe some light hydration if she can manage it and keeping her from being overwhelmed might help a little bit. and her fever or symptoms don't get better soon, though, i really highly suggest reaching out to someone who can help you. like i know you want to do everything yourself but sometimes even the best efforts need extra support but yeah i hope she feels better soon.

Honesty...... Just let her die...... too much thinking

yea, she's asleep right now. we are in my room lights off besides a dim light from a lamp. her fever now gone down slightly. but still above 100.

ok that's good to hear i mean that's good because the fever's gone down a bit, even if it is still high. i know it's hard to rest easy when they still sick. but like seeing such a small improvement is something to hold onto. hopefully, she will stay asleep and gets the rest her body needs to fight it off so yeah that is really good :3
