It can be fun. I had a friend who was in color guard. It looks really fun since you get to twirl and throw the flag up into the air.

It's very fun, you get to meet new friends and you get to do very cool choreography. You might like color guard if you're the type that likes to get out there and move around. Waving flags is a very nice workout.
