ykbatman:

What literary device is most used by authors today and which one is the most effective?

ykbatman:

I think that the most used literary device is metaphor. Although I don't think that it's the most effective of the literary devices. The most effective device, in my opinion, is irony. I think this because it can be used for humorous effect as well as serious effects.

MysticalMayhem:

Honestly, I see similes a lot and I'd say those are pretty effective. Foreshadowing could also work here.

I see alot of personification, but I agree with the foreshadowing.
