So this line is in what is called 'slope intercept form.' It looks like this: y = mx + b m is the slope (the angle of the line) and b is the y-intercept (where the line crosses the y-axis, the big line in the middle of the graph running up and down). You can start by knowing guarenteed where the line starts, which is at the y intercept, since it crosses at 1. So go to (0,1) on your graph. Then from there we look at the slope. The slope is easily understood like this: \[m = \frac{ Rise }{ Run}\] So look at m, it's 1/6. The line 'rises' by 1, then 'runs' by 6. So go up 1, then to the right by 6, then that is the next point on your line. From there draw a line between these two points, and you have your line (:

It is 1/6, so it 'rises' by 1 unit, then 'runs' for 6 units. So go up by 1, then to the right by 6, and you'll find the next point of your line. Then draw a line between those two points. That is your line.

Yeah I've described the way to find the second point of your line. Remember, the objective was to 'graph this line using the slope and y-intercept.' In order to draw a line, you need two points to draw between. Does that make sense?

oh cmon cant u guys teach it in a simple manner? #1) basically the + 1 is where it touches the vertical line (y axis, the one going up and down) and so u draw a dot there. #2) from that dot, you move up 1, since the 1 is on top of the 6. #3) then since the 1/6 is positive, you move 6 to the right. draw a dot there. repeat. (and do it to the other side of the starting point) #4) lastly, play connect the dots, and boom its a straight line.

Its not always straight tho.
