whoa didnt know there was a section for gardening. well okay.. so im growing 3 cactuses right now. and one of them isn't growing. it was the one i propogated (i think thats the term) off one of the bigger ones. the big one recently started growing again, and the smallest one has also grown another one. what i wanna ask about: first, why does my medium cactus not growing. second, what would happen if i let the cactus to continue growing (its as big as the one its growing out of) and 3, how far apart should i plant them (next to the mail box kinda thing)
What breed of cacti did you propegate? Some cactus need root hormones added to the water in order to root properly but most don’t
And as far as planting it really depends on how the soil is where you live. I live in Idaho so our soil is really dry naturally make sure to keep that in mind when u plant. As far as spacing I think when we planted ours we did 4-6 inches apart
As far as growth, cactus really grow whenever they feel like it, there’s really no linear growth unfortunately, the darker they are normally tends to be a significant sign of how healthy they are
i literally just poked it into the dirt yesterday
i meant saturday. and then i realized huh it might need space when it grows bigger
Pear cactus are like the hulk of cactus, you really don’t have to do much as far as taking care of them. We have a few at my parents cabin and they survive everything from 10 feet of snow to dry summers. Just keep an eye on them and you should be good
lol thats nice to hear. how do i keep an eye on them? just look at it every few weeks?
Yes, like I said keep an eye on color differences, growth isn’t a good indicator of health but color is.
gotchu. dark, better; lighter, worser?
yuhhh
thank youuu
ofc ofc
