because real is messy,

you hug like a photograph—
pretty, posed,

no warmth,
no weight.

but i’m not made of air,
and i don’t bend like paper.
i see it now—
you only love me
when it’s convenient.

so take your soft lies,
your shallow check-ins,
your sugar-coated ghosts
and stay over there.

i’m done watering fake flowers
just to watch them stay dead.
