Is there any specific method they're asking for? Like substitution, adding the equations, etc?

there is no other information but I'm assuming they're asking me to do substitution?

Lui0210:

In that case, you could just plug in y since it's given in the second equation : 3x = 2(-6x+18) +14 Distribute : 3x = -12x +36 +14 Combine like terms and simplify: 15x = 50 Then divide : Which I'm sure you could doo
