In shadows cast by others' eyes, I walk beneath the weight of sighs. Each whisper lingers, sharp and cold, A tale of shortcomings, often told. The mirror shows a weary face, An echo of their harsh embrace. I’m bound by chains of self-doubt's grip, A sinking ship on a turbulent trip. I reach for warmth but feel the chill, The constant nagging, the pressure to fill. "Be better, do better," the voices scream, But in this struggle, I seem to dream. I gather pieces of shattered pride, While inside, the storm I often hide. With every step, I fight the tide, Yet still, I stand, though hurt inside. For those I love, I bear my load, A silent warrior on a lonely road. Though little in their eyes I seem, I hold their hearts within my dream. Still, the voice in my head won't cease, It tells me I'm a puzzle, never at peace. Yet when they falter, I quietly lend, A beacon of hope, a loyal friend. Perhaps one day I’ll learn to see, The worth within, the strength in me. Until then, I walk this line, In a world that judges, still I shine.
