Why do religious groups try to influence others to adopt their beliefs?

minustempo:

If you think something is true, and other people do not, would you not ever think to try to convince them?

Valid point

DonaldTrumpofQC:

To convince them, yea. But to get your point of veiw across, and explain your side of things

CecePitbull:

'To convince them' rarely works. As someone who is not religious. I have had MANY try to convince me on these things. Does it get irritating? yes. Do I listen? yes. I do like to hear the other side of things. But even as you convey all these facts, etc, to convince me. I won't be convinced. Like, for example, trying to convince MAGA supporters that Trump is a horrible dude. It doesn't work. They believe it and put their foot down no matter how hard you try, which, yes, gets very, very frustrating. but. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. even if you or I don't agree with it. There's nothing we can do.

Well it can vary on religion and belief - some may try to convert people because they want to safe them from "hell" while others simply belief that its the right thing to due. Honestly its hard to explain and it definitely depends on the religion.
