Why do people often blame Germany for WW1 when in reality they didn't start it? Was it because of their involvement or just propaganda, or is it not related to anything?

xXAikoXx:

People blame Germany for World War I because they survived the war. Because of this, the country was left to deal with the large financial load from the war which is an attitude stated in the Treaty of Versailles. Another reason Germany was held accountable is due to biased propaganda, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, imperialism, militarism, the torturous alliances system, and the rise in nationalism in the Balkans are all major factors.

its aggressive actions, the infamous war guilt clause in the Treaty of Versailles, and extensive propaganda from the Allied powers.
