I feel like it would be a good way to set things private for people you don't want seeing it and a good way for only the people you let see it so that its more private and your choice of who can or cannot see your smart score and etc. but it not everyone is the same so people may have different opinions on this topic.

Then there's no reason to worry about it. The DM's are literally just there, it isn't like it's being used. Or do you mean hiding the person from the DM's tab after a certain amount of time?
