How can I better memorize phrases in a different language?

What I do is include the word in my language. Like just asking for simple water i say "Can you get me some wasser" or regular stuff like "can u ask mom when she is done, bitte"

use a combination of active recall methods like flashcards and repetition, and passive immersion techniques like listening to music and watching movies

Try to use flashcards and use audios... listen to people talking in another language and record yourself attempting to talk in that language to understand where your pronouncation goes wrong
