She wonders what it’d be like to see you again not who you are now, but who you were. Candy fights. Controller wars. Too loud, too angry, too young to stop. You hurt her. She stayed. That’s the part no one saw. She carried your temper like it was hers to hold, still called you brother through clenched teeth. Even now, it’s not the pain she remembers it’s the boy she lost and never stopped loving.
