the old me and new me

the old me would let people push him around and he would take it
the old me let people treat him like dirt and he would take it
the old me would do anything even if it meant hurting himself just to see the people he loved smile
the old me would do anything so he could let like he fitted in
the old me walked all over him and he would take it
the old me was too scared to defend himself
the old me hated himself

the new me pushes away the ones he love
the new me shuts down when he is hurt
the new me lets his truma control him
the new me tries to act tough when in reality he knows that he is far from it
the new me somehow screws up everything
the new me over thinks everything
the new me still hates himself
