MariaNorie:

I am working on my art class, but I was wondering if I am shading, is charcoal pencil able to be used along with the shading paper pencil?

MariaNorie:

Or is the pencil itself better to use?

XxXImHerXxX:

pencil would be better and a charcoal for shawding

xjacob:

I think the pencil would be better to plus charcoal l for shading

Mason1239:

Use the pencil for the first start and if the shading isn't too ur liking add some of the charcoal for more of a shady look.

Texasroadhouse13:

You can use charcoal pencils with regular graphite shading pencils on the same drawing; they work great together for layering different tones, with charcoal handling the deep blacks and graphite creating mid-tones, but use paper with texture and be mindful of smudging, often layering graphite first for base tones, then charcoal for dark spots, and blending with tools like stumps or chamois.

DanielDaMan:

Pencil would be better

SaltySuga:

I dont know

Theyenvylaylaa:

Honestly think pencil alone is way better for shading.
